Reimagining entrepreneurship education for an Arabic-speaking audience

King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST)

The challenge

KAUST wanted to extend the reach of its entrepreneurship education by creating a fully Arabic online course for edX — an engaging, culturally relevant experience that would encourage learners to participate, practise and develop their own entrepreneurial ideas.

My role

As Learning Strategist, I worked onsite with the KAUST team in Saudi Arabia to shape the learning strategy and course design. I then led the development phase, working across learning design, media and production to turn the concept into the finished learning experience.

The approach

We created an Arabic-first, gamified entrepreneurship experience. Modules became levels, activities became challenges and instructors became mentors — combining digital pedagogy, content and media to encourage participation and application.

The impact

The course reached a substantial Arabic-speaking audience.
