Developing the next generation of leaders

BearingPoint with Saïd Business School, University of Oxford

The challenge

BearingPoint wanted to prepare Senior Consultants for more senior leadership responsibilities. The challenge was to create a leadership development experience aligned with BearingPoint’s strategy, while recognising the individual career and development needs of large cohorts.

My role

As Oxford Programme Director and Associate Fellow I work closely with BearingPoint and Oxford to shape and direct the programme. My role includes learning strategy and curriculum development, faculty coordination, programme delivery and the participant experience.

The approach

The BE.Oxford Academy is a 12-month blended leadership development programme combining Oxford residentials with online learning, executive coaching, reflection and peer learning, and the Pioneer Project — an applied innovation challenge that gives participants the opportunity to develop an idea collaboratively and take it through to a final pitch, putting innovation, teamwork and entrepreneurial thinking into practice.

The impact

Now in its fifth cohort, the Academy continues to evolve through participant experience and feedback.

The programme builds the capabilities needed for the transition into leadership — strengthening self-awareness, relationships and personal impact alongside strategic decision-making, commercial acumen and the ability to lead in complexity.
